The 20th Peter Dvorský International Music Festival will be open by an opera concert, that is dedicated both, the 100th Anniversary of Founding of Czechoslovakia and the Festival Anniversary itself. In a symbolic way three leading tenors from the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Austria have been invited as the main stars of the concert.

Miloš Vránek, the founder of the company Renocar, dedicated the BMW brand more than fifty years of his life. He gradually created a unique collection of thirty historical vehicles that documents elegance and technical precision of BMW. You can admire historical cars as well as latest models at the exhibition.

A singer and an actor Tomáš Klus follows the Czech songwriters-tradition. As he never allowed the music genres to limit his production, it was only a question of time when he will create a new music project which connects his songs with the sound of a symphonic orchestra.

The magic of early swing music in the era between two world wars will be intensify by stylish interpretation, period language and period costumes.

Three hundred and forty years since the birth of the most important celebrity of the Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou history, the count Johann Adam von Questenberg, we put two exalting compositions by Franz Adam Mitscha in contemporary premiere on the stage. Both of them where composed to honour of the count family.

The famous melodrama Ariadne on Naxos by Georg Anton Benda from 1775 is based on Ovidius story about a Cretan Princess, who helps the Greek hero Theseus to defeat monstrous Minotaur. Beside the ancient myths two chamber works by Antonín Dvořák and Josef Suk will be on the programme.

The Peter Dvorský Vocal Master Class for young singers has been a part of the festival till 2006. Two of the then participants, who nowadays regularly appear on world opera stages, will come back to Jaroměřice with the programme from The Elixir of Love, Rusalka and The Bartered Bride.

This year celebration of the Czechoslovak statehood will culminate by Beethoven’s well-known work, his last finished symphony, which became famous thanks to Schiller’s “Ode to Joy”. The dance and light performance in finale will evoke feelings of joy and happiness in all of us.
