According to the tradition of last years the successful Italian conductor invited for the opening of the festival opera stars from abroad. The laurate of Plácido Domingo’s World Opera Competition Operalia and promising Russian soprano will perform arias and duets from Norma, Rigoletto, La Traviata, Werther, La Bohème and Madama Buttefly.

Let us invite you to Naples in the period, when its name in the music world was a synonym for Baroque cantata. With music performed on period instruments and using the period style the prestige ensemble will present works of less or more known authors connected to music society in Naples in the first half of the 18th century.

Cycle of symphonic poems My Homeland by Bedřich Smetana or Slavonic Dances by Antonín Dvořák belong to treasures of the Czech symphonic repertoire. Although both works became world known in their orchestra versions, we will listen to selected parts from four-hand versions of both compositions in the interpretation of Mr. and Mrs. Ardašev.

There isn’t any other music work that is connected with so many fiction as Mozart’s Requiem. Mysterious messenger, who commissioned the composition and the fact that Mozart died before finishing his work moved among others Miloš Forman to focuse on grim and romantic story about death of the most gifted music composer of all ages.
