Due to his visual impairment and repertoire choice, Marián Bango is often likened to Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Thanks to his beautiful voice and creative talent, the visually impaired artist has made a deep impression on perceptive listeners as well as recording studios against the odds. His night will be about not only singing and music, but also meeting his friends and guests.

Although we have been used to receive Western jazz impulses for a century; tonight we will immerse ourselves in something that has originated somewhere else, but what was intrinsic to jazz in its dawn: The art of improvisation, the fundamental harmony between a singer and three musicians who clearly understand each other even without a score and can make use of their individual ideas.

The length and breath – this can be the subtitle of the concert that will non-traditionally connect the classical music and the pop scene, and that will traditionally be held on the second Saturday of the festival. The programme, which will feature film and musical songs, will bring together four Prague cellists and a celebrity who will show her art of singing. The Hradec Králové Philharmonic Orchestra will accompany the performers.

“Confession” is the most honest declaration; somebody confesses with their mouth, somebody confesses with their hands – holding a guitar. Add a harp, similar to the one the Irish have in their coat of arms, a chamber orchestra and darkened courtyard that reflects it all – Lenka Filipová, singer, lyricist, composer and guitarist will make a thorough confession this night.

The festival’s closing gala concert will render two types of experience: aural and visual. The opera pieces by Mozart, Donizetti and Verdi (whose round anniversary will be celebrated this year) will be succeeded by Mozart’s Fire Serenade – the traditional closing light show with fire dancers, this year inspired by the magical powers of Eine kleine Nachtmusik. Mozart wrote this piece specifically for a night party in castle gardens.
