You can have a blessed time not only cheering loudly, but also quietly enjoying the feeling of internal peace and harmony. The latter option will be embodied in the sacred music concert which will be held in the beautiful atmosphere of the St. Maragaret’s Church in Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. The well-known mezzo-soprano Jana Wallingerová from Brno has chosen to perform, among others, Antonín Dvořák’s Biblical Songs, Schubert’s Ave Maria and Bach’s arias; these are admired for their melodic wealth and deep spiritual content, bringing the audience into other, better worlds.

Wild temperament and fiery performance do not need to be in contradiction with classical repertoire; folk songs can be complementary to overtures. Gypsy Devils Orchestra’s devilishly impressive interpretation of popular melodies from all genres has convinced a large number of different audiences around the world about the truthfulness of the above mentioned statements. Bizet’s Carmen, Romanian songs, Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody – all these are linked together via Romany fiddles.

Zuzana Lapčíková and Friends

Zuzana Lapčíková Quintet

Zuzana Lapčíková – cimbalom, vocal
Josef Fečo – double-bass
Kamil Slezák – drums
Ondrej Krajňák – piano
Rostislav Fraš – saxophone

Zuzana Lapčíková has grafted Moravian melody pattern outgrowths onto jazz essence and she, together with her Quintet, fosters the resultant melange. The great singing, the amazing musicians, the sound of a jazz combo enriched by a cimbalom… Zuzana Lapčíková’s Quintet focuses on the Moravian folk music; thus, according to Zuzana, it is inevitably confronted with Master Janáček. Nevertheless, the Quintet needs not to be afraid of such confrontation because it does well without any reservations.
