conductorPetr Šumník

Interpreters of the opening gala concert will be two special personalities in the line of opera singing. While the soprano Adriana Kohútková is asserting herself increasingly outside Slovakia, her country of birth, and the audience is stunned by her coloratura cascades, the young Czech baritone Filip Bandžak is slowly springing into popularity due to his achievements in the most prestigious world singing competitions. The concert promises a truly extraordinary opera experience.

Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou – Castle Park
Eva Urbanová off classics
Unconventional concert of the Czech queen of opera Eva Urbanová, her autograph giving and friendly get-together with the audience with the glass of rosé, specially prepared by the Viticulture Zaječí for that night occasion.

Eva Urbanová – soprano
Boom ! Band
with string orchestra
conductor Jiří Dvořák

This is not for the first time Eva Urbanová´s name appears on the Peter Dvorský International Music Festival programme. In contrast to 2004 when she featured in the spectacular imaginary performance of the opera Libuše by Smetana, this time the prima donna of the Czech opera world will perform a little less typical programme of her which is, however, still very close to her heart. Come and make sure a great artist does not have to be limited by any music genre bounds!

Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 19:30
Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou – St. Margaret Church
Vienna rendezvous

W. A. Mozart: Exsultate, jubilate (KV 165)
J. K. Vaňhal: Stabat mater

Hana Škarková – soprano
Pavla Zbořilová – alto
The Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno
The Czech Chamber Soloists
artistic leader Ivan Matyáš
conductor and choirmaster Petr Fiala

This is also the way we can denominate the night devoted to two 18th-century Vienna contemporaries. In the atmosphere of the baroque cathedral this concert may offer a more impressive experience than the rest of the festival concerts. We can enjoy the opportunity to listen to the compositions by W. A. Mozart and J. K. Vaňhal thanks to the world-famous Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno, coming back regularly with the best reviews from their European concert tours. Both solo singers who are specialized in the oratorio and sacred music interpretation have grown out of its tradition. The whole impression will be deepened by Ivan Matyáš´s Chamber Ensemble performance.

FRAGILE a cappella group

And here is another novelty! Slovak a cappella ensemble FRAGILE is known rather in its native country. Let’s believe that their performance in summer Telč will be all the more original. They characterize themselves this way:
“FRAGILE is the best Slovak a cappella group formed by eight top vocalists.
FRAGILE engages in interpretation of world-famous great hits (rock - pop - jazz) in very
 interesting a cappella arrangements.
FRAGILE invites you to an entertaining and unforgettable musical experience.”
