Her lyrical voice has portrayed tens of opera librettos characters and graced them with the patina of an excellent singer. She has sung on prestigious podiums all over the world where her voice, a famed Slavonic treasure, has been considered one of the most beautiful and has been ranked to one of the ten best of the international scene.

Mars Angelicus

Ensemble Ritornello

Artistic leader Michael Pospíšil

The ensemble Ritornello has in the last fourteen years acquired respect of the listener as well as the professional press. Superb concerts illustrated that the old music doesn’t draw the attention only of a handful of researchers but it is an attractive show reviving the old dusty music scores. Pospišil´s interest and experience in the historical interpretation managed to bring to an oversaturated music trade a few enthralling recordings which were prized very highly by the critics and introduced some of the forgotten composers to the public. We can just look forward in expectation to which composition will surprise us in the Church of St. Margaret this time.

Admission: 200,- / *100,- Kč

Medieval songs in a new garb

C. Orff: Carmina burana

 Soloists to be negotiated

Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra

Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno

Choirmaster Petr Fiala

Conductor Petr Vronský

Narrator Lukáš Hurník

Flash Barrandov Special Effects Ltd.

The authentic medieval songs of the pilgrims, students and clerks from the Monastery Bura St. Benedicti situated near Munich were revived a few centuries later in the music of Carl Orff. The frilly themes of the text became the heart of his Cantata Carmina Burana which is, with respect to the high number of recordings and performances, one of the most favorite and famous works of the twentieth century. The final concert of the Festival shows thanks to the modernist technology a unique interpretation of selected parts of this cantata together with several visual effects and lighting magic. Therefore this project stands as one of the interactive concerts, as were featured in previous festival seasons.
Admission: 360,- / *180,- Kč
