Born in Vienna, Stefan Vladar is one of Austria’s most remarkable musical personalities. He performs regularly as a conductor and a pianist in music centres in Europe, America and Asia. In 1985 he won the 1st prize of the prestigious International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna. Stefan cooperated with renowned orchestras (Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Concertgebouw Orchestra, Wiener Philharmoniker, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra) and conductors (Claudio Abbado, Ricardo Chailly, Christopher Hogwood, Seiji Ozawa, Christian Thielemann), performed also for many festivals (Salzburg Musik Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, Edinburgh International Festival, Bodensee Festival, Hong Kong, Osaka). Stefan has a close long term musical cooperation with the baritone Bo Skovhus. Stefan Vladar was appointed Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra in 2008. Since 1988 Stefan Vladar is Artistic Director of the „Neuberger Kulturtage“.
