Vladimír Válek

Since 1985 until this day he has been the chief conductor of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra which has become under his energetic leadership one of the most notable European radio ensembles. Since the 2004/2005 season he has also been acting as the chief conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic.
From 1975 he spent twelve years as a conductor of the Prague Symphony Orchestra and since 1996 he has also been acting as a conductor of the Czech Philharmonic with whom he has performed at many concerts at home as well as abroad. Since the 2002/2003 season he has also been appointed a chief guest conductor of Osaka Symphony Orchestra. He has been guest performing with the most significant symphony orchestras such as Amsterdam, Berlin, Bonn, Brussels, Cairo, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Moscow, New York, Paris, Beijing, Salzburg, Singapore, Soul, Tel Aviv, Tokio, Vienna, Zürich.
The conductor Vladimír Válek has accomplished over one thousand recordings for radio stations in Europe and overseas. The discography of Vladimír Válek consists of over one hundred titles for the companies Pony Canyon, Harmonia Mundi, Supraphon, Radioservis.
